Six months ago, I bemoaned the lack of entrepreneurship news in Pittsburgh's mainstream press. Cori Shropshire had left the P-G's tech beat, and no one was appointed right away to replace her.
Her successor was in the house all along, and yesterday we saw and read a nice example of what's to come: "City making advances in biosciences as local companies' reputations grow." The content isn't earth-shattering news -- if it's news at all -- but that's beside the point. Salience is the key here, and hopefully P-G readers here and beyond Western PA will see more front-of-the-section stories like this one. Welcome officially to the tech beat to Elwin Green. P-G readers will recognize him as the author of the Post-Gazette blog called "My Homewood."
