Seriously, try this. Here is a web site from a group in Ohio. Call it up and after your first impression, write down what you think this group is advocating and whether you think it is probably a good idea or not.

Then take a minute and read a little more... Also, what does it mean for Pittsburgh?

Government, The horror continues.
There have been two previous amendments proposed over the last decade to allow gambling in Ohio, both failed. This pretty slick, but it will probably fail as well.
At first I thought the site was an attempt to keep the Ohio educated in Ohio, but then I saw the gaming pitch. Is it all about bringing gambling to Ohio?
The bait and switch campaign bothers me. If I didn't like the gambling option before, I hate it now. These development initiatives verge on extortion.
Looks like a zoning race to the bottom to me.
Most things ivolving the goverment here verge on extortion.
Well, how different is that from "Benefits Older Pennsylvanians. Everyday."?
As of 2004, the average PA-ian spent $190 on the lottery. That made us number 15! Some states do not break out VLT (video lottery tickets, i.e. slots) income seperate from traditional lottery sales, so that might move us up a couple of places. Note: Nevada has no state lottery.
What is the expected average revenue per capita for the casinos? $100/head in 100 mile radius?
