In his first local presentation since the judge's decision was handed down in the landmark case, Walczak will provide a first-hand account of the issue and the trial.
This event is sponsored by a collaboration of local ACLU groups including the University of Pittsburgh ACLU undergraduate student group, the University of Pittsburgh Law School ACLU student group, the Carnegie Mellon ACLU student group and the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the ACLU of Pennsylvania.

Ah, good old Vic, proof positive that the personal injury and med-mal bar doesn't have a monopoly on frivolous lawsuits.
People are free to disagree about ID teaching, but arguing that this was a violation of civil liberties is just a wee bit of a stretch. If we're saying that it's simply bad pedagogy, where were these guys when "whole language" came out? And if we're saying that it acknowledges religion, well, yes: it acknowledges that religion exists. That's hardly the same as forcing it on students.
Someone's starved for publicity, though, and in ACLU-land that's more than enough to trigger a lawsuit.
