Miss Pittsblog?

I've been away (in fact, I'm still away), which explains the last of posting for the last couple of weeks. I'm looking out my window right now at 60 degrees and a steady rain. But the beer is especially tasty, the public transportation system is incredible, and you can almost feel the pulse of the economic vibe in the region. So I'm obviously not in Pittsburgh. One thing the locals do share with Pittsburgh, however: a powerhouse football team and local passion therefor that borders on obsession. More next week.

So where are you then? Are we to guess? If so, I guess Vancouver. I was there recently and your description fits.

Darn. I thought this post was going to be about a contest to select a new female ambassador to the Pittsblogosphere.

Sorry to disappoint, JP, though perhaps someone might update Miss Frothingslosh for the 21st century.

Drew, you and all are welcome to guess. Vancouver is a good one, but not correct. I've been there a few times, and while Vancouver is a great city, the beer, sports passion, and public transit all are better here.

Hmm. I haven't been following the weather in Vancouver, but a few miles to the south it has been beautiful and sunny, as is typical of the Pacific NW in the summertime. (They did have an unusually cold spring out here though. I was interviewing in Vancouver when it snowed in April!)

I would have to guess Mike's somewhere in the UK. If I were more ambitious I would look for currently running cyberlaw conferences.

On the right track, JP, but nope, not in the UK.

I would have guessed Dublin in the UK...talk about a vibe!

Amsterdam?

Schultz said... 7/16/2008 8:43 PM

Let's see - beer, sports, rainy, and not the UK. Are you in Germany?

Mike Madison said... 7/17/2008 4:51 AM

Schultz is on the right track.

It's raining today.

Dublin in the UK? Don't let any of Pittsburgh Irish hear you say that!

You are in Amsterdam.

If you are in Germany, then I would say Berlin is the city. I say Berlin because that's the city I would move to if I was looking to ride the next wave of economic globalization. And the energy there right now beats New York, London or Paris.

Schultz said... 7/21/2008 12:04 PM

Okay, not Germany, so how about Belgium?

jtogyer said... 7/21/2008 1:07 PM

Beer, rain and a passion for football?

You're clearly in McKeesport. How come you didn't say hello?

Oh, wait, you said "economic vibe." Never mind, unless you're counting the burgeoning growth of "dollar stores" ...
