Nice blog. I actually found a link to it from a blog kept by John Cook in Seattle. Having worked in several Pittsburgh startups, its interesting to see the much larger VC environment here in Seattle.
At this point Pittsburgh needs a concerted effort by the community & the government to draw in the talent and keep it there. Ultimately Pittsburgh needs something to distinguish itself from the other cities in the area such as Cleveland & Cinncinnati. Activities around CMU have been great for the city, but CMU can't do it alone. UPitt needs to step up and raise its contribution as well. That would give Pittsburgh the left-right that places like the bay area have with Stanford & Berkeley.
