They're CSB, and You're Not

Is it just me, or does the Carbolic Smoke Ball look just a wee bit different?

I do miss the Carbolic Smoke Blog, even though I was among a tiny number of contract law geeks to get both the pun and the inside-the-family joke behind it, and may Rufus Peckham, J., unlike his namesake, enjoy a long and prosperous retirement. Again.

I miss the old CSB. The new site looks too clean and, well, too much like every other news and fake news site. It reminds me of a cross between Huff Post and the Onion.

Schultz, I know you're involved in blogging and my advice to you is avoid black backgrounds like poison. That old background of ours was a killer to work with -- very difficult in terms of choosing colors, etc. Since we were looking for other flexibility, we decided to do it the way I should have done it at the outset.

All good points, Judge, but the old 1980's style is what helped made you guys stand out.

So what does "Carbolic Smoke Ball" actually mean? Care to share the pun, Mike or Judge? :)
