Shameless Self-Promotion

Yes, Pittsblog readers got to see it first, but the Post-Gazette picked it up pretty quickly.

Just to be clear, again: This is a fictional address. I am not, in fact, speaking to the Allegheny Conference.

Michael,

Thanks for stirring up some dialogue and (hopefully) moving Pittsburgh in a new direction. HELP (Helping Entrepreneurs Learn from Peers) is behind you!

As a marketing executive with pre-IPO startup experience who moved here from the Northeast, I can attest to there being zip for CMO or VP marketing jobs in these parts, other than healthcare.

Just as well since it allowed me to set up a successful consulting business, which, apparently no coincidence, has no Pittsburgh clients.

Nice article, interesting thoughts. Hopefully something will come of it.

Way to speak up. I definitely agree that the economic development community needs to adapt to a changing Pittsburgh. I also concur that there is a severe dearth of management available to work with experienced start-ups. Great points. Keep it coming.
